Commerce Club


An English Poet, Thomas Grey had once opined "Commerce changes the fate and genius of nations". The Commerce Club constantly encourages its students to analyze the changes taking place in the business environment in order to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject.

  • 'Management Dhamaka', a Commerce club activity was organised on 6 May 2015 as an Inter school competition under Pulse 2015. The participants were required to enact and explain one of the Management Principles of Fayol. 12 teams from different schools participated. The enactments were quite innovative and enriching. It added to the existing knowledge of the students and helped them to understand the topic in a better manner. The judges, Ms. Shalini Mukhija (P.G.T. Commerce, N.C. Jindal Public School) and Mr. Ankush (Asst. Teacher, Drama, BBPS GR) applauded the spontaneity and enthusiasm of the participants.
  • In the month of October, 'Enactus' - an international Non-Profit Students' organization from SRCC initiated 'Student Volunteer Programme' for pupils interested in gaining practical exposure in the field of marketing. 21 volunteers of class XII participated and were required to sell 10 kg of detergent in 7 days. They were awarded a 'letter of appreciation' on completion of the target, by Enactus, SRCC.
  • Commerce Teachers' Foundation organised Commerce Olympiad on 28 November 2014. 70 students of class XI and XII participated in the event. The result of the Olympiad will be declared in the month of January.
  • 'Tag-O-Packet', a commerce club activity was organised on 6 May 2014 as an inter school competition under Pulse 2014. The participants were given a product for which they had to do packaging, design a logo and then advertise the product. They were given 2 hours for packaging and 2 minutes for presenting the advertisement. 16 teams from different schools participated. They made innovative packages and creative advertisements. Mr S K Aggarwal (Chief Resource Person, Kshitij Education Centre) and Mr Ankush (Dramatics Teacher) judged the event.
  • Commerce Club put up an Exhibition cum Sale of folders & envelops prepared by commerce students of class XI, on 31 October 2013. Though there was hardly any profit margin, the entire activity was a great learning experience as it provided an insight into the practical and realistic world of business.
  • Members of the Commerce club participated in an Inter school competition on Consumer Awareness organized by The Air Force School on 27 August 2013.
  • In Poster making competition based on Role of Consumer, Lakshay Ahuja of class XII won the first prize and Sukriti Rathore of class VII won the second prize in their respective categories.

  • Kushal and Sushant of class XI prepared a PowerPoint Presentation based on Sustainable Development.
  • The Commerce club organised a programme on 4 September 2013 in the school auditorium based on the theme 'Consumer Awareness'. It consisted of:
    • An inspirational song based on consumer awareness written by Ms Anju Arora, TGT Hindi with music composed by Ms Archana, TGT Vocal Music.
    • A skit focusing on trade malpractices with suggestions on tackling such situations was conceptualized by Ms Vaneeta Gupta, PGT Commerce with the support of other Commerce faculty members, Ms Shailja Nagpal & Ms Richa Kumar. The skit provided an insight into consumer rights.
    • An inspirational song based on consumer awareness written by Ms Anju Arora, TGT Hindi with music composed by Ms Archana, TGT Vocal Music.
    • Commerce Club organised 'Bech Dhana Dhan' Competition on 6 May 2013 as a part of PULSE 2013, an inter school event organized by BBPS, GR.The event was divided into three sections. Each team consisting of four students was given the first one hour to prepare their product & in the last section, teams traded their products & prepared a cost sheet each.

      11 teams participated in the event. Some of the innovative products prepared were 'Fauladi Rakshak'- a hand bag with a speaker & pepper spray, 'Vasclo Frame' A vase cum clock cum photo frame made out of eco friendly products etc.

      The event was judged by eminent persons, Mr S C Garg, former Professor of Delhi University and Mr Sunil Agarwala, Chief Resource Person, Kshitij Education on the basis of creativity, advertisement impact & cost-sheet analysis.
