PARESH PRASAD SINGH MILLENNIUM NATIONAL TEACHER AWARD 2015-16
The Institute for Environment, Yoga and Social Security awarded Paresh Prasad Singh Millennium National Teacher Award 2015-16 to Ms Nita Nijhara, PGT English, in appreciation of valuable services rendered to the cause of Education. The award was bestowed upon her by Maj Gen. G. D. Bakshi, MLA Ms Bandana Kumari and Supreme Court Lawyer & MLA Mr Madan Lal in a ceremony held at India International Centre on 3 September 2016.

STATE TEACHERS’ AWARD-2016
Dr (Ms) Ms Sunita Gehani, Head Mistress did the school proud when she was felicitated with the prestigious The State Teachers Award 2016 for her invaluable contributions in uplifting the standards of teaching. The award was conferred upon her by Ms Punya S Srivastava, Secretary (Education), Govt of NCT of Delhi, in the august presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mr Manish Sisodia; Mr Kapil Mishra, Minister for Tourism on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day, on 5 September 2016.
CLEAN SCHOOL OF THE YEAR AWARD
The school was awarded the 'Clean School of the Year Award' by National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research(NICER) on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day Celebrations 2016. Ms. Megha Arora, Asstt. Tr, received the award on behalf of the school in the Ceremony held on 15 July 2016 at India International Centre, New Delhi.
EDUCATION WORLD INDIA SCHOOL RANKINGS 2016
In the league table of India’s Best Co-ed Day Schools in the Education World India School Rankings 2016, our school was ranked 69th at the All India level as against 71st last year. In the State Rankings, the school was 32nd;and at 25th position in the City Rankings. The assessment was based on a questionnaire administered to a carefully selected sample base of parents, principals, teachers and educationists across 14 parameters of educational excellence, such as competence of faculty, academic reputation, co-curricular education, life skills education & conflict management etc.

TIMES SCHOOL SURVEY 2016
Times School Survey 2016 accorded third position to the school, as against the fourth position last year, in the Leaders category in Central Zone. This ranking rendered the school as being the top most, within 7 kms radius. The study consisted of, firstly, the Factual Survey, in which a structured questionnaire was administered to the respondent school. This was followed by the Perceptual Rating Survey wherein the feedback was taken from school teachers, alumni, experienced parents, students as well as aspiring parents.
Digital LEARNING SCHOOL RANKING SURVEY 2015
The School was accorded an eminently high position among the Best Schools of India, from the shortlisted 73 edu Destinations, in the digital LEARNING School Ranking Survey 2015. The judgment was based on a set of five perception based parameters, namely, Goodwill, Legacy& Reputation; Academic Ecosystem & Outcomes; Future- ready Academic Infrastructure; Enrichment of Learning Experience; and Career Advancement.
It is noteworthy that the school ranked highest in the category, Online Presence, in Central Delhi.
NATIONAL MASTERS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016
In the 37th National Masters Athletics Championships 2016 held in Mysore from 2 March to 6 March. Mr Ravinder Singh Dahiya represented Delhi in the event, High Jump in the 40+ Category. He was awarded a Gold Medal and Merit Certificate for securing the first position.He broke his own record of 1.79 mtrs by setting a new record of 1.83 mtrs.
ARTISTRY 4 SDGs
The school was amongst the 17 schools of Delhi that were selected to participate in ‘Artistry for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’, a United Nations Information Centre initiative. The SDG allotted to the school was ‘Reduced Inequalities’. Under the guidance of Ms Suchismita Sahoo, four students of XI A presented their interpretation of the given goal on a 12’x12’ canvas in acrylic colours.The painting is being showcased at India Habitat Centre, in an ongoing Art Exhibition that shall go on till 23 March 2016.
The Principal Mr L V Sehgal was felicitated with Distinguished Educationist Award for his noteworthy immense contributions in the field of education by the Federation of Educational Publishers in India, an apex body of Educational Publishers. The award was bestowed upon him by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences in a ceremony organised on 11 January 2016 at India International Centre, ND.
Vice PRINCIPAL Felicitated
Action Committee, Unaided Recognised Private Schools felicitated the Vice Principal Ms Geeta Gangwani on being conferred the State Teachers’ Award 2015 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of Education. I feel very proud to share with you that the school was felicitated with the prestigious Life Empowerment Awards for Schools 2014-15 in three Award Categories, by Expressions India, The National Life Skills and Values Education & School Wellness Program in a ceremony held at National Science Center, Pragati Maidan, ND on 31 October 2015.

PROMISING NIEians :YOUNGEST ROBOT DEVELOPER
Udit Vaish (XII B) was one amongst the few students from Delhi and NCR to feature in the column ‘Promising NIEians’ in the student edition of the Times of India, dated 16 December 2015. The column focused on exceptional children and teenagers that amazed their peers and mentors with their extraordinary talent and intelligence. Udit Vaish was lauded as one of the youngest robot developer whose robotic creations have been widely exhibited and commended in various prestigious tech fairs held throughout the country.

Aryan Garg (V B)participated in ‘12th Bhaskar Maths Award competition’ which was held on 1 August 2015 at Doon Public School Paschim Vihar,ND. He has won the Second prize in the same.
Painting of Priyani Gupta (III E) was selected for being showcased in Annual Exhibition’Pradarshini’ of Raghuvansham School of Modern Art from 20 to 27 October 2015 which was held at Lalit Kala Akademy, Delhi.
The DELF A1 exam (French Proficiency Exam) was conducted by the Embassy of French in India on 11 December 2015 at Alliance Française de Delhi. It is the official qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the oral and written competencies of the candidates from the outside France in French language and has a life time validity.
The following six students among the seven from class IX G who appeared for the exam from our school successfully cleared the exam:
Mehar Bahl (IX G) was awarded the certificate of Honourable Mention in the ‘Poetry Writing & Recitation Competition: Liberation War of Bangladesh – 1971’ which was organized by Indian War Veterans Association on 15 December 2015, at Air Force Auditorium, ND.
Consumers India awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Yashika Garg (XII E) and Suban Kapoor (XII G) each for their commendable performance in the competition ‘Paint Thy Thoughts’ held as a part of ‘Arthshashtra and Confest 2015’ on 15 October 2015 in DPS, Vasant Kunj.
50th Youth Parliament Award Ceremony was organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on 21 January 2016 at Parliament House, ND. Eight students of our school were felicitated for their meritorious performance in the Youth Parliament Session which was held in the school on 21 August 2015. Each student was awarded a trophy and certificate by Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State for Skill Development and Minister of State, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. A live presentation of the Youth Parliament by the winner school was much appreciated by all. The Awardee students of our school are:

Excellence in music
Excellence of the following students in Instrumental Music was duly recognized when they got an opportunity to showcase their talent under the guidance of Mr Munish Shankar(Astt. Teacher, Instrumental Music) in programmes that were telecast on National Network, DD National and DD Bharati.
Chinmay Budhiraja (VG) gave a solo tabla performance on Teen Taal on DD National and DD Bharati on 24 October, 2015.
The Orchestra troupe consisting of 9 students, namely, Chinmay Budhiraja (V G), Dhruv Chopra (IX A), Rajveer Singh (IX H), Akshit Sehgal (IX H), Dhawal Singhal (XI E), Shubham Jain (XI F) and Rishabh Goel (XI F), Saahas Verma (XII A) and Aarohan Phatela (XII E), gave instrumental music performance on Jhap Taal wherein the composition was based on Raag Jog. The program was telecasted on 7 November 2015 on DD National.
NIE SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAMME
Ms. Sanaya Mahajan (XI B) qualified for the Times NIE Summer Training Programme 2015-16 that was held from 18 to 21 May 2015. She got a chance to interact with the editorial team of The Times of India-Student Edition to gain hands on experience in journalism. On completion of the summer training, she was given a research project. Sanaya Mahajan was awarded a "Certificate of Honor" for her research report.
SPIRITUAL AND VALUE EDUCATION AWARD
It gives me happiness to share with you that the school was awarded the 'Spiritual and Value Education (SAVE)' award by Confederation of Indian Universities on the auspicious occasion of Spiritual and Value Education (SAVE) Day on 13 March 2015 at India International Centre, ND. BBPS GR was one of the 20 schools selected from amongst 3000 schools of Delhi and NCR for this award. The award was received by Ms Jyotsna Srivastava (TGT Sanskrit) and Ms Shashi Sahni (TGT SSt) on behalf of the school.
ACHIEVEMENTS IN ZONAL SPORTS AND CULTURAL EVENTS
In the Zonal Prize Distribution Function for Sports and Cultural Competitions for Zone 28, Central District, held on 16 February 2015, our school won Team Games Overall Championship in the category of Boys as well as in the category of Girls. The Boys group also won Overall Championship for Cultural Events. In addition, Kartik Grover (XII G) won the Athletics Championship in the Boys Group, in the Senior category.
I had shared with you all in my previous report that in the state-wise ranking of Top Indian Schools 2014 conducted by the educational magazine, digitalLEARNING, the school scored an enviable 8th position in Delhi- NCR region in the Northern Zone. The award ceremony for the same was held on 21 January 2015 at Hotel Le Meridien, ND. Ms Meena Malhotra, Head Mistress, received the award on behalf of the school.

Art work of Soumya Sucharita Panda on the topic 'A Peaceful World' has been printed in young@70, calendar 2015-16, published by United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan in collaboration with NPSC.
Chase Award for school
In acknowledgement of its outstanding contributions, the school received International Felicitation, 'Cleanliness, Hygiene and Sanitation Education (CHASE) Award' on 20 December 2014, on the occasion of United Nations International Human Solidarity Day, at India International Center, New Delhi by Confederation of Indian Universities. The award was bestowed on the strong recommendation of International Association of Educators for World Peace, affiliated to United Nations - ECOSOC. The award was received by Ms R B Gupta and Ms S K Jain, Environment Club in-charges.
In the state-wise ranking of Top Indian Schools 2014 conducted by the educational magazine, digitalLEARNING, the school scored an enviable 8th position in Delhi- NCR region in the Northern Zone. This ranking for judging excellence of schools was based on various parameters significant for overall development of a child, ranging from school's reputation, infrastructure to academic performance etc.

Delhi Schools Painting Competition
Habitat for Humanity India and Indo Global Social Service Society (IGSSS), supported by UN HABITAT organised the Delhi Schools Painting Competition on the theme, Homeless People: The City Makers. Among the 750 participants, the paintings of Kritika Genolia and Arijita Jhingram of class IX, were adjuged among the top 50. All the 50 paintings were exhibited at CNI Bhawan Lawn on 9 October 2014 and our students were accorded the Runners up position. They were given a Certificate of Appreciation each and prizes.

Annual Swami Vivekanand Competition
About 85,000 students from 160 schools took part in the first round of the Annual Swami Vivekananda Competition – 2014. Around 1000 students have been selected for the second round on the basis of overall performance and answers. Four students of BBPSGR have been selected for the second round scheduled for 17 October 2014. Ms Poonam Sondhi, Ms Anju Marwah and Ms Satinder Kaur (TGT Science teachers) constituted CBSE committee for finalization of CBSE class X Science paper marking scheme for All India, Delhi as well as Foreign papers. The committee headed by Principal Mr. L V Sehgal worked from 21 July to 25 July 2014.
Ms Poonam Sondhi, Ms Anju Marwah and Ms Satinder Kaur (TGT Science teachers) prepared sample papers for SA2 for class X Science, along with marking schemes, for CBSE.
Principal Mr. L.V Sehgal was appointed as Nodal Officer for checking of AISSCE 2014 Physics paper from 24 July to 31 July 2014. Ms Rani Bhardwaj (PGT Physics) was appointed as Head Examiner for the same.
Ms Rashmi Bindal Gupta (PGT Economics) has been selected as a member of Course Committee of Economics by CBSE.
Ms Sabina Chaudhry (TGT, German) has been selected to mentor PASCH schools for 'German-Indian Classroom' project on the basis of her active participation in the same for last three years. She conducted a briefing session on 13 October 2014 to familiarize teachers of different schools with the German Indian Classroom projects.
Mr Ravinder Singh Dahiya (PET) participated in 18th Asia Masters Athletic Championship, Kitakami, Japan from 19 September to 23 September 2014. He ranked second in High Jump with a record of 1.75 mts.
Vice Principal Ms Geeta Gangwani continues to mentor schools of Delhi and outside for adding International Dimension to curriculum. Outstanding Achievement Mathematics
Sanchit Singla of X H, a student of Abacus Champs Academy, Delhi solved 50 Square root sums of number 10,000 – 10,00,000 of 3-digit in 2 min 56 sec and solved 81 square root sums of 2-digit in 2 min 14 sec on June 30, 2014. Sanchit Singla broke the National record and his achievement will be featured in Limca Book of Records.

Sneh Bharati Awards
In a Prize Distribution Ceremony organized by Sneh Bharati at Hindi Bhawan on 29 March 2013, Kartavyasheel Shikshak Sammaan 2013-14 was bestowed upon Ms Uttara Mukherjee, TGT Hindi for her invaluable contributions towards promoting Hindi language and instilling moral values amongst students. In this category, from all over Delhi, she was one of the ten teachers to be chosen for this honour.
Ms Nanda Nair, formerly TGT Instrumental Music at the school, too was conferred Kartavyasheel Shikshak Sammaan 2103-14 for inculcating a passion for instrumental music among her students and instilling moral values amongst them.
In the category of Sangeet Pratiyogita , Radhika Sharma of class X was awarded the second prize; while Dhaval Singhal of class IX and Akshit Sehgal of class VII received the Consolation prize each.
In Bhashan Pratiyogita, Aashna Chawla of class VII scored the third position while Ishita kalra and Tushita Srivastava of class VII were awarded a Consolation prize each.
Best Skater of the Year award
Arham Goel (VI E) won the 'Best Skater of the Year' award in the Quads Skates Category 2013-2014 organised by Delhi Skating Association. He was awarded a trophy and a cash prize of Rs.6000/-. In 2013-2014, in DSA competitions, he got 19 gold medals out of 20.
Pranay Lamba (III A) participated in 'Ospo Active Kids Group' painting competition organized by Active Kids for Active India on 17 April 2014 held at Anand Nursing Home, ND. Pranay won the IInd position.
IESO Training Camp
Mridul Jain was one of the 22 students selected on All India basis for International Earth Science Olympiad Training Camp that was held in Bangalore from 13 to 31 May 2014.
Scholarship by Engineering Watch
Aditya Roy of class XII C was amongst 160 students from a total of 1500 students from All India to have been selected for a Scholarship by Engineering Watch, a non -profit organization. He was felicitated in a Ceremony held at IIT Delhi on 15 June 2014. He shall get a scholarship, which is, a 50% waiver in his tuition fee, throughout the four years of his Engineering course. Additionally, the facility of a mentor from an industrial background shall also be provided to him.
The organization also felicitated the Principal, Mr L V Sehgal for being a Pro-Active Principal.
7th Trishakti International Open
Mr. Manish Chauhan won Gold Medal in 81 kg category in Judo Championship – 2014 that was held on 16 & 17 May 2014 at Trishakti University, Jakarta, Indonesia.
mi-KAT examination 2013
In the mi-KAT examination 2013, 32 students were felicitated for their excellent performance in English; 19 for Math; and 5 for Science. There were 19 students who received prizes for their overall outstanding performance. The prize money ranged from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1, 00,000/-. Chahat Jain of class VII and Mrinal Anand of class V received Rs. 1, 05,000/- and Rs. 1,00,000/- respectively.
Appreciation by Orange Association
The Principal Mr L.V. Sehgal was awarded a certificate of Appreciation by Orange Association for encouraging the study of Astronomy in school. Ms. Anjali Virmani, teacher coordinator also received a certificate of Coordination for NASA Astronomy Olympiad.
LIFE EMPOWERMENT AWARDS 2012-13
The school added yet another leaf to its book of achievements when the Principal, Mr L V Sehgal and the Vice Principal, Ms Geeta Gangwani were honoured with an Award each in the ceremony for The Life Empowerment Awards for Schools 2012- 13, held under the aegis of Expressions India, the National Life Skills, Value Education & School Wellness Program in collaboration with National Science Centre, New Delhi. The Chief Guest for the Award Ceremony held on 30 August 2013 was the illustrious Sh Vineet Joshi, IAS, Chairman, CBSE; the Special Guest of Honour was the noted Dr Sadhna Prashar, Director, CBSE while the renowned Ms Geeta Chandran, Founder- President, Natya Vriksha Arangetram graced the occasion as Ambassador for Culture & Peace.
The Principal, Mr Sehgal was felicitated with the prestigious The Expressions India Jury Honours for Exemplary School Leadership in Education in the category of Principal's Leadership in Promoting Life Skills- Outstanding Endeavours. Ms Gangwani, the Vice principal became the proud recipient of Exemplary Achievement in the category of Jeevan Kaushal – Teacher Leadership awards.

World Education Award 2013
BBPS GRH has been conferred the World Education Award 2013 in the category of 'Global Collaborative Learning Initiative' for the exemplary work done in the project, 'Who We Are and Where Are We Going', focusing on the issue of 'Migration'. The year long project undertaken by our school in partnership with the German school, Genoveva Gymansium under the German Indian Classroom Programme was adjudged the best amongst a number of entries from all over India.
National Geographic World Championship
Further, in the National Geographic World Championship held at St. Petersburg in Russia in July 2013, Utkarsh Gupta of X H had the opportunity to be part of a three member team representing India. He got this chance after qualifying a tough mega final round at Geofest 2012. At St. Petersburg, the team cleared the first and second rounds and created history by entering the top 3 - the first time for India. The Indian team bagged the bronze medal after losing a nail biting tie breaker to team Canada, in the Finale.
In recognition of this achievement, the association of Punjab Geographers and Geography department of Kurukshetra University felicitated Utkarsh Gupta at the inaugural of its Ist International Conference on 4 October 2013.
These well deserved Awards bear testimony to the school's commitment to provide quality education.
OVERALL ZONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The school was declared the Overall Champions in sports for zone 28 on the basis of the Sports Zonal Competitions held during 2012-13. Twenty seven trophies for various sports and games were awarded to the school in the Annual Function organized by Delhi Administration that was hosted by SKV, Prasad Nagar on 23 February 2013.
Poster Making Competition - Ramakrishna Mission

NASA Astronomy Olympiad
Ananya Gupta of class VI stood first all over India in the second round of NASA Astronomy Olympiad held on 11 February 2013. She has won an all expense paid, 10-day trip to NASA.

National Cyber Olympiad
The 12th SOF National Cyber Olympiad, Level II was organized by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) in the school.Chahat jain of class 8th of Bal Bharati Public School, Ganga Ram Marg brought laurels to the institution by getting 4th rank internationally and 2nd rank at the State Level Of National Cyber Olympiad. The event was held at Springdales School, Pusa Road during Februray'13. Chahat made the institution proud by winning glory among 500 participants all over India. She received a gold medal,cheque of Rs5000 and a World Book CD along with a certificate of merit.

The school was conferred 'Eco-Friendly School of the Year Award' in the 33rd World Environment Congress, by Indian Institute of Ecology & Environment, New Delhi on 6 June 2013 at India International Centre, Lodhi Road.
